• Up Close With Mud Cloth

For those of you who aren’t familiar with African mud cloth; here is the low down. Mud cloth is traditionally called Bogolanfini which is one of the most popular African textile traditions. It is handmade Malian cotton fabric dyed using a process of fermented mud that dates back to the 12th century. One of the many things that make mud cloth so special and unique is that every pattern holds meaning and the language of the cloth is passed down from mother to daughter.

The designer to thank for bringing this trend of out Africa to Western society is, Chris Seydou. As you all have noticed, this fabric can be found from anything to home décor to handbags. This is true for both our Facile and Meg clutches; handbags that can easily translate from day to evening. We chose some bold triangular patterns, cobalt tie die and a delicate take on herringbone to feature this season.

Be sure to make a statement with the addition of pattern this fall; we have a feeling this trend will be around for a while for us all to embrace.

Check it out now and get them while they last! Which one will you pick?

    Cheers! xo

  • Halloween - Girls Night In

    The How To Guide

October is full of comfort and excitement as our environment is changing; the air gets a little cooler and our wardrobe gets cozier. So now that we are fully settled into fall weather with our spiced lattes; Halloween is creeping up on us.

While a crazy night out sounds like fun; a girl’s night in sounds equally appealing. We’ve come up with a few tips and tricks… and treats to have the ultimate Halloween night in!

Start planning now; you know how the game goes. Everyone likes to make plans, purchase the perfect costume. Let everyone know ahead of time that the place to be is your couch, wearing their favorite set of pj’s.

Try to avoid planning your soiree on actual Halloween night, that way the ladies with little ones can enjoy trick or treating with them. It’s like having your cake or candy and eating it too!

Start early! Have the ladies over for an early dinner and keep it simple... we suggest Pizza.

You’re going to want to decorate. You can go all out with lights, Pinterest the best way to make an adult size fort or keep it simple buy purchasing those adorable mini assorted pumpkins.

Ask everyone to bring their favorite blanket to cozy up while watching movies.

Speaking of movies; everyone is to bring their go to Halloween movie!

Is girl’s night ever complete without the group signature drink? Whether the staple beverage is wine or green juice (aka witches stew) make sure you have it there.

Pick your poison! Ask everyone to bring their absolute favorite Halloween treat; it’s one of the few days a year we get to purge on candy.

Disposable cameras for everyone! There’s nothing like a good old printed photograph to commemorate a memory and keeps the moment authentic. While of course snapping a couple selfies along the way for Instagram!

Can’t wait to see what you ladies plan!

    Cheers xo

  • Style Report Fall Fashion Show

    The Recap

For those of you who weren’t able to make the Style Report Magazine Fall Fashion Show September 29th; we have the inside scoop. Our Public Relations Director was part of the styling team for this amazing soiree and has all the juicy back stage gossip.

In August the lovely Style Report ladies approached us to participate in what turned out to be an amazing night. Stylist, Rachael and Katie hand selected some of our handbags to feature for the runway show. We couldn’t be happier with the results. Our bags were paired with street wear, boho chic, and eclectic styles; a true representation of the versatility of this new collection.

    The Build Up

The energy back stage was like no other. “I could honestly feel the excitement in the room.” said Myriam, our PR Director. “So much hard work had gone into getting these looks just right and that was reflected on the runway. Once the show started, the styling team came together to make sure everyone was taken care of. Excitement turned to organized chaos and just like that, the show was over!”

    Our Favorite Look

Our favorite look was worn by model Ashley Wahler. Everything about the earthy fall hues and bohemian vibe lent perfectly to our Wanderer cross body in Saddle. Her makeup was soft and effortless paired with black liner and a bold teased braid. This is an easy style update for this fall season.

We are so proud to call the beautiful ladies over at Style Report, our friends, and couldn’t be more excited to see what amazing fashion tips they have in store for us all!

    Cheers xo

  • Molly G Handbags - Creating the NEW Look

    Molly G Handbags

    Creating the NEW Look

There comes a time in everyone’s life for a change. This was true for designer Molly Greig of Molly G handbags, when it came to the creation of her new line. While she was completely enamored with the way her debuting line turned out, this fall it was time for some elevation.

Molly’s design inspiration came from a bag she carried around New York for many years. It was just that… a bag; some would even call it a sack. She could not seem to find something simple to replace it. As a result, she and a friend then purchased some leather and put together what would later become the Wild Child.

Molly G took the raw, natural leather and created something sleek, clean and refined. She was adamant about staying true to her belief of producing right here in America and sourcing her leather from American providers, while staying true to herself when designing. The new line still reflects her free bohemian spirit with a touch of edge and feminine class. Molly G started the redesign by finishing off her raw edges with the addition of upgraded detailing, such as the gorgeous chambray lining, handles/straps, and closures. Incorporating a bag for everyone woman’s needs is really what makes this line stand out.

    What’s New?

The effortless Clyde hobo bag is the perfect handbag for the California babe on the go. Clyde is offered in a variety of neutrals, including the lines signature honey leather. The Edith offers structure and style for all your boss babe needs. Edith is sleek, clean, and refined; a perfect addition to your professional wardrobe. The Maya is the ideal feminine cross body which features both suede and buttery leather. Maya, sized for the essentials, is ideal for a day or night out on the town. The Rebel clutch: the perfect basic clutch that can even fit small tablets. Louise, is she ever beautiful. Louise is a refined take on the hobo handbag, offered in stunning slate and toast suede. The structural stitching and modern shape is what makes this bag different than anything on the market.

Here’s what hasn’t changed: the quality. Molly G is manufactured right here in Los Angeles, something she swears will NEVER change. Just like us, Molly G will evolve as the line grows with every passing year! We are so excited to share her new line, and look forward to watching her grow!
